Know what you can really spend.

Add your accounts, cards and installments: what hasn't happened yet only counts on the day it does.

Your bank balance doesn't tell the whole story.

  • It shows what you have today, not the rent due on Friday.
  • You buy with your card today, but the money only leaves your account when the statement is due.
  • A spreadsheet works, until the month you forget to update it.

What hasn't happened yet stays out of your balance.

Salary, bills and installments stay planned until their day. Your balance only shows what has already happened.

  • The Schedule shows the next 30 days: what comes in, what goes out and on which day.
  • On the day, an entry is marked as done on its own or waits for you to confirm. Your choice.
  • Paid on another day, or a different amount? “Mark as done” asks “When did it happen?” and how much you paid. Got it wrong? Tap “Undo”.
  • Missed a date? It shows as overdue on Home and doesn't touch your balance.
New

On your card, money leaves your account when the statement is due.

Add the purchase on the day you made it. The app puts it on the right statement, and the Schedule shows the money leaving your account on the due date.

  • When you add it, the app suggests the statement from the purchase date and the closing day. If your bank put it on the other one, just pick it.
  • Paying in installments? Each one goes on its own statement, and you see how much is left to pay.
  • The Cards screen shows the open statement, how many days until it closes and how much is already committed to the next ones.
  • Pay from one of your accounts: in full, in part, before closing or more than due. Anything extra becomes credit on the next statement. And there's “Undo”.
  • Card already in the app? Before saving, a review shows how each statement will look.

The app doesn't connect to your card: you add the purchases, and it does the statement maths.

Your numbers show only when you want them to.

One tap on the eye hides the amounts on screen. Open the app on the bus or next to someone.

  • The eye hides amounts on every screen.
  • It works in this browser and doesn't replace your phone lock: anyone who unlocks it can see.
  • No link to your bank: the app never asks for your bank password or access to your accounts.
  • No ads.

Built for money as it really is

More than one currency, a month full of dates, purchases in installments and money set aside: each one in its place.

Dollars, reais and euros in one app.

Each account keeps its own currency, and everything adds up in the main currency you pick when you start.

  • The suggested rate is the one from the entry's date, and it stays saved on the entry: the past doesn't change when the rate does.
  • When you transfer between currencies, you see how much arrives on the other side and the reference rate. If your bank used another rate, the one you enter is the one that counts.
  • Your net worth and the Home balance are shown in your main currency, at today's rate.

The whole month at a glance.

In the Schedule, the Calendar marks what comes in, what goes out, what's planned and what's overdue on each day, and the 30-day view shows the same as a list.

  • Tap a day to see its entries. Your card statement shows up on its due date.
  • See the month's summary and an account's projected balance at the end of the month.
  • Date changed? Use “Move to another day”: “Only this one” or “This and following”. On a computer, you can also drag it.

Installment purchases, entered just once.

Enter the total or the amount of each installment, from 2 to 120, and every installment shows up as planned, each on its own day.

  • Doesn't split evenly to the cent? You choose whether the difference goes on the first or the last installment.
  • Already paying it off? Tell the app which installment is next: the ones already paid don't become entries or touch your balance, and the numbering stays real (4/10, for example).
  • See how many are paid, how many are left and which one is next. On a card, each installment goes on its own statement.

Money you set aside has its place too.

Investment accounts sit next to your other accounts, and you record what you put in and take out.

  • A transfer to an investment counts as “Investments” for the month, apart from expenses, and a withdrawal comes back. The month's balance already takes out what you set aside.
  • Turn off “Add to the Home balance” and the account leaves the “Available” balance at the top. It stays in “All”, in your net worth and in reports.
  • The app doesn't fetch returns or asset prices and doesn't connect to your broker: you record the amounts.

Get started in three steps

  1. Create your account.

With email and password (you confirm your email) or with your Google account.

  2. Add your accounts and cards.

Enter today's balance for each one. A short tour shows where everything is, and you can skip it.

  3. Add entries and follow along.

Use “+” for money in and out, set up repeating bills once, and see on Home what has happened and what's still to come.

Frequently asked questions

Is Velaclara free?

Yes. Creating an account and using the app is free, and signing up doesn't ask for a credit card.

Does it connect to my bank?

No. You add what comes in and goes out, and the app does the maths. It never asks for your bank password or access to your accounts.

Is my data safe? Where is it stored?

The app and its database run on servers in the United Kingdom, with a daily encrypted backup, and every connection is encrypted. To sign in, your email must be confirmed; five wrong passwords in a row lock password sign-in for 15 minutes; and you get an email when your account is accessed from a new browser or device. There are no ads, and we don't sell your data. The details are in the Privacy Policy.

Is there a phone app? Is it in the app stores?

It's not in the stores. You install it from your browser, on your phone or computer, and it opens like an app, with an icon on your home screen.

Does it work offline?

Partly. Offline, you can see what was already on your device and add expenses and income. They show as “To be synced” and are sent once, when you're back online. Transfers, installments and edits need a connection. This data stays on your device for up to 7 days and is deleted when you sign out.

Can I share it with my partner?

No. Each account holds its own finances, with no shared access.

Does it work with other currencies?

Yes: dollars, reais, euros and more. Each account has its own currency, and you pick your main currency when you start. Each entry keeps the rate it was recorded with, and your net worth is shown in your main currency at today's rate.

Can I import my bank statement?

No. Entries are added in the app. To take your data elsewhere, you can export your transactions, accounts and categories to CSV.
